If the firmware version is correct, it seems to me that this notification is more of an annoyance, and I’m pretty sure that my solution will get rid of the notification and update the firmware if needed. Apple very recently changed the firmware update process for all wireless Apple products to OTA (over the air) for all Apple devices, and it’s causing problems for non-Apple users.
